In addition, we positively influence safety and wellbeing standards through our design and technical advisory work. In this way we can help to improve standards that have an impact on those who construct, maintain, or operate the assets we design. This ensures the benefits we leave behind after our projects are complete are positive and long-lasting.
It is for this reason that our strategy includes sustainable travel elements to ensure we are making decisions as a business that consider both people and planet.
We work closely with our equality, diversity, and inclusion team so that all our programmes support people from all backgrounds.
We are approaching our target of zero harm on physical accidents that affect our people and projects. At the same time, we are becoming increasingly concerned about the rise in mental health and wellbeing issues facing our people. So we took this opportunity to look back at our journey in its entirety to celebrate our achievements but, more importantly, to reflect on ways to continually improve our workplace safety and wellbeing.
A recently launched global training programme for our wellbeing community has provided workplace wellbeing champions and our mental health first aiders with more of the skills and support they need to look after our people in offices and on our projects. This is part of our commitment to adding social value to everything we do.
The development of structured career paths within our business allows colleagues with an interest in safety and wellbeing to enhance their skills and experience outside their day jobs. This helps us to embed the importance and accountability we all have as individuals and as a company to look after our people.
