Are investments of time, effort and finance going to reap rewards, and can we be doing better?
At Mott MacDonald, our experts integrate research, monitoring and evaluation into all stages of development programming. We want programmes to strengthen the development of people, communities, and governments to realise the right to services such as health and education.
Using a range of research methods tailored to the context, and drawing on our extensive experience and knowledge of the international development sector, we examine a range of possibilities on behalf of clients. We strive to answer the questions: what works, what doesn't, and what can be done to strengthen current policies and practices?
What we specialise in
Added value
- One million adults are tested for HIV each month following powerful media campaigns in South Africa: Along with our partners, we managed South Africa’s Third National HIV Communication Survey (NCS), which examined the impact of HIV communication programmes on improving individuals’ knowledge, beliefs, norms and attitudes that may influence and sustain behavioural change in relation to HIV prevention, care, support and treatment.
- 20-fold acceleration in ability to find people with TB: The results of the first wave of TB REACH grants found that the programme had helped over 18,000 additional people to be treated for TB. We have carried out monitoring and evaluation of the project since it was launched.
- Mid-term Evaluation of the Education for All Fast Track Initiative: We led this high profile, global evaluation, looking at the FTI’s relevance, effectiveness, providing recommendations designed to improve the initiative going forward, and create a monitoring and evaluation framework for continued assessment of its processes, outcomes and impacts.
