We have undertaken various dredging and reclamation projects all over the world including Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia, and the United Kingdom. In many cases the projects have involved associated reclamation works. In some instances the main purpose of dredging has been to provide source materials for reclamation.
Our projects have included creation of new navigation channels or deepening of existing channels, port basins and vessel turning circles, trenches for tunnels and pipelines, and creation of new land areas for various forms of infrastructure development.
We regularly employ in-house navigational software to minimize and optimize dredging layouts. Our reclamation techniques depend on the type of natural materials found at the site, and we have successfully employed soil replacement, soil strengthening, vertical drains and surcharging, and deep compaction techniques to provide reclaimed land that meets the required engineering capabilities.
Environmental considerations are becoming increasingly important. We are experienced in developing projects in consultation with environmental agencies and in using techniques that will minimize environmental impact and provide a unique and sustainable solution.
Some of our key services in dredging and reclamation projects include these:
- Feasibility studies
- License applications
- Planning and design
- Numerical and physical modeling
- Environmental impact assessment
- Contract documentation
- Plant and equipment specifications
- Budget pricing
- Project evaluation
- Contract supervision
- Project monitoring and auditing
- Expert testimony
- Dispute resolution
Recent dredging and reclamation projects include these:
Isle of Man, UK. The foreshore was reclaimed for runway extension using imported marine dredged sand fill pumped ashore.
Rossaveel Port, Ireland. We designed and supervised a rock dredging campaign to create navigational areas for a new ferry terminal, including reclamation of nearshore areas to provide landside operational areas.
Kingston Port, Jamaica. We designed and provided construction supervision for the dredging of port access channels and the formation of reclaimed areas for container port development.
