Engineering

Muscat hospital, OmanOur role as client’s engineer on this 72-bed hospital for women and children in Muscat in Oman ranged from writing the building design brief to commissioning all medical equipmentOur building experts have wide ranging experience in the design and development of hospital projects which are often complex in scope, involve diverse stakeholder groups and are often subject to rigid budget constraints.

With extensive international experience in healthcare and other institutional buildings our civil and structural engineers bring a proven ability to design, lead and manage complex projects, in either traditional tendered delivery arrangements or through novation, PFI and/or design and build.

Once the facility has been built our building services engineers provide mechanical and electrical design services. We have particular expertise in performance-based fire safety engineering – critical in healthcare facilities where occupants’ mobility may be impaired. Where energy use is a significant issue in hospital facilities operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, we can provide low energy design, including natural and mixed-mode ventilation, daylighting and photovoltaics. We also have skills in large thermal energy and co-generation plants.
