In the 70s we expanded into the North Sea designing production facilities, pipelines and storage and export terminals – while setting up a network of design offices to serve major Middle East oil producers. For offshore facilities our expertise ranges from compiling a definitive database on pipeline loss of containment incidents for UKOOA, the Institute of Petroleum and the HSE to comparative risk assessment of failures and impact of fires and explosions on platform structures. We’re also renowned for our work in applying computer-based techniques and reliability methods to the lifetime assessment of offshore structures and pipelines. Safety, risk, environmental, sustainability and public accountability are of high and increasing significance. Our experience in all of these areas is applied to all projects where required with processes such as EIAs, EISs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, socio-economic studies and QRA.
