Building the blueprint
With its Discovery Centre, University of the First
Age and Imax cinema, Millennium Point is one of Birmingham’s new
landmarks – we developed the Millennium Point Trust Company’s
concepts into a working design for design-and-build contractor
GCNMott MacDonald has been planning, designing, constructing
and maintaining buildings for nearly a century and is committed to
the quality and performance of the built environment. Our approach
to buildings is that they should not be designed as structures in
isolation but take into account the needs of the customer, users,
surrounding urban environment and the community. Our teams are skilled in addressing the challenges of building structures within complex and integrated urban environments using flexibility, flair and innovation combined with our full range of in house professional and technical skills. Our customers are equally varied, ranging from developers to local authorities, inward investors to contractors and regeneration agencies to multi-nationals.
As no two projects are ever the same, it is fundamental for us to ensure that we understand the project objectives from the outset and carefully tailor our designs to meet the brief. Our comprehensive capability includes structural design, building services, building management, master-planning, environmental assessment, geotechnics, project management, planning and construction supervision.
