Mott MacDonald wins 4th consecutive RoSPA health and safety award

For the fourth consecutive year, Mott MacDonald has had its approach to the prevention of accidents and ill health recognised in the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2012. The prestigious Gold award was presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.

Mott MacDonald appointed on US$27 million Jamaican hydro expansion scheme

Mott MacDonald has been appointed as designer and technical advisor by Kier Construction Ltd for a US$27 million hydropower expansion project located on the Black River near the town of Maggotty in Jamaica. The expansion will double the 6.3MW power capacity of the scheme.

Mott MacDonald appointed lenders’ technical advisor for €101 million highway PPP project, Belgium

Mott MacDonald has been retained as lenders’ technical advisor for a €101 million highways development in Gent, Belgium. The project is being funded through a public private partnership (PPP) by Via R4 Gent, a special purpose vehicle established to carry out the design, construction, financing and maintenance of the highway.

Mott MacDonald appointed on coastal protection scheme in India

Mott MacDonald has been appointed project management and design consultant by the Government of Karnataka, Department of Ports and Inland Water Transport, for the Karnataka section of the National Coastal Protection Project (NCPP) in India. Financed by the Asian Development Bank, the three states included in the INR2.5 billion scheme are Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Mott MacDonald appointed owner’s engineer for USD1.5 billion power plant in Sur, Oman

Mott MacDonald has been appointed as owner’s engineer by the Phoenix Power Company for the construction of the largest ever power station in the Sultanate of Oman. The 2000MW combined cycle power plant located at Sur in the Sharqiyah region is being developed to meet the growing commercial and consumer demand for electricity.

Mott MacDonald secures a large highways contract in India

Mott MacDonald has been appointed design consultant by IVRCL Raipur-Bilaspur Tollways Ltd for the planned Raipur-Bilaspur national highway 200 in India. Part of the National Highways Development Programme Phase IV established by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the new road will connect Raipur in Chhatttisgarh to Chandikohole in Orissa, passing through areas like Bilaspur, Raigarh and Jarsuguda.

Mott MacDonald appointed detailed design engineer for light rail network in Norway

Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Bybanen Utybgging, a subsidiary company of Hordaland County Council, to carry out the detailed design, preparation of procurement documentation and stakeholder management for Stage 3 of the Bergen light rail transport system in Norway. The role includes all civil, systems and environmental design, architecture, landscape, noise and vibration, traction power substations and ancillary buildings.

Mott MacDonald designed £13.5 million Foresterhill Energy Centre secures BREEAM Excellent rating

The Mott MacDonald designed £13.5 million environmentally-friendly Foresterhill Energy Centre at NHS Grampian’s new health campus in Aberdeen, UK, has secured a BREEAM Excellent rating score of 83.32%. The centre was also named best industrial building at the BREEAM Awards 2012.

Mott MacDonald appointed detailed design engineer for expansion of Nakoda polyester facility

Mott MacDonald has been appointed as detailed design engineer by Nakoda Limited for the expansion of the company’s polyester facility located in Karanj, in the Surat district in the state of Gujarat, India. The appointment follows on from the consultancy’s detailed technical economic feasibility study which was completed last year.
