Mott MacDonald has been awarded a five year engineering services consultancy contract by Al Khafji Joint Operations of Saudi Arabia covering the maintenance and development of the 40 year old Khafji oil field.

Mott MacDonald appointed engineering consultant for Crossrail tunnels fit-out
Mott MacDonald has been appointed engineering consultant by the Alstom, TSO and Costain (ATC) joint venture for the fit-out of the new Crossrail tunnels. The JV has won the last major construction contract to be awarded by Crossrail, which will see the commissioning of track and rail systems and turn 21km of twin-bore tunnel currently being constructed under the streets of London into an operational railway.

Mott MacDonald is reducing poverty in Mozambique
Mott MacDonald is the manager of a €2.5 million technical assistance project for a local economic development programme in Mozambique that will reduce poverty and improve living conditions for people in rural areas. The European Union and Government of Mozambique financed ‘Programa de Desenvolvimento Economico Local’ (ProDEL), which totals €32.5 million, will create income and employment opportunities by promoting economic activities at local level and facilitating small scale economic infrastructure.

Mott MacDonald is providing consultancy services for a project that will improve flood defences and drainage in coastal areas in Bangladesh, benefiting 150,000 households (1 million people). The project is being funded by the Dutch government as part of the Netherlands Development Cooperation.

Mott MacDonald named owner’s engineer for US$350 million Ghubrah desalination plant, Oman
Mott MacDonald has been named owner’s engineer for the US$350 million Ghubrah Independent Water Project (IWP) in Muscat, Oman. A consortium led by Malakoff International and including Sumitomo Corporation and Cadagua is developing the seawater reverse osmosis desalination facility. The plant, which will be located next to existing water production facilities, will produce 42 million imperial gallons of potable water per day to supply Oman’s capital area.

Mott MacDonald continues role on major onshore wind farm in Uruguay
Mott MacDonald has been appointed to carry out technical, environmental and social due diligence on the 50MW Florida onshore wind farm in Uruguay. The consultancy will also provide construction and operational monitoring on the project, which is being financed by the European Development Financing Institutions PROPARCO, FMO and DEG. The wind farm, which reached financial close on 22 February 2013, is being developed by Akuo Energy S.A.S.

Mott MacDonald retained on Supreme Court PPP in The Hague, the Netherlands
Mott MacDonald has been retained as lenders’ technical advisor by Poort van Den Haag for the new Supreme Court building in The Hague, the Netherlands. The consultancy will carry out construction and operations monitoring during the next phases of the public–private partnership (PPP) project, which reached financial close on 23 January 2013.
