Mott MacDonald retained on Supreme Court PPP in The Hague, the Netherlands

Mott MacDonald has been retained as lenders’ technical advisor by Poort van Den Haag for the new Supreme Court building in The Hague, the Netherlands. The consultancy will carry out construction and operations monitoring during the next phases of the public–private partnership (PPP) project, which reached financial close on 23 January 2013.

New Quito International Airport opens

The new Mariscal Sucre International airport in Quito, Ecuador, has officially opened following an inauguration by President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa. The last flight from the old airport departed at 19.07 on 19 February. Project stakeholders concluded a highly complex overnight transfer of operations to the new airport, 15km to the east of the city in just 14 hours. The new airport opened its doors and received its first aircraft at 09:07 local time on 20 February.

Mott MacDonald has been named lenders’ technical and environmental advisor by Bilkent Ankara Entegre Saglik Hizmetleri Yatirim Ve Isletme Anonim Sirketi on the Ankara Bilkent Integrated Health Campus development in Turkey. The consultancy will also provide construction and operational monitoring services for subsequent phases of the project.

Mott MacDonald has completed its role as technical advisor for a new commercial gateway in Myanmar being developed in response to increased trade and economic growth in South East Asia and South China. The Dawei Development project, which is being implemented by the Dawei Development Company, includes a new deep sea port, industrial estates and transport and utility links.

Mott MacDonald appointed lead design engineer for £5.1 million Llandudno Station renovation, Wales

Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Buckingham Group Contracting Limited as lead design engineer for the renovation of Llandudno railway station in north Wales. The £5.1 million scheme is being delivered by Network Rail on behalf of the Welsh Government and is part of the Department for Transport's National Stations Improvement Programme. The project has been supported by the European Regional Development Fund, through the Welsh Government.
