Mott MacDonald has a strong track record contributing to the delivery of infrastructure in Australasia, going back 50 years. Our current role in the region involves providing leading-edge solutions to public and private sector clients on a range of developments in transport, buildings, water, energy, environment, education and health.

In Australia, key examples of early infrastructure projects our team worked on are Melbourne Underground Rail Loop, Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Sydney Water's MacArthur Water Filtration Plant and Pyrmont Power Station.

With the arrival of independent, employee-owned engineering consultant Hughes Trueman, we now have a large staff base working across South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, A.C.T, Queensland and Western Australia.

Our experts played a pivotal role on the prestigious Pyrmont Bridge and the Queen Victoria Building projects in Sydney. More recently, major assignments have included the structural design of the award-winning Rouse Hill Town Centre and the main terminal building at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. We are now carrying out the largest transport study ever undertaken by the Government of South Australia, developing a plan for the upgrade of 9km of Adelaide’s South Road in joint venture with KBR and URS. Our unrivalled tunnelling metro system expertise is being applied on Melbourne Metro. We are also working on a number of urban development projects including two landmark regeneration programmes in Sydney – Minto renewal and Green Square.

We have formed a very strong team with specialist Mortimer Project Management (MPM) joining Mott MacDonald in Adelaide, bringing an impressive record in the construction and property industry. We’re providing design management and project management for redevelopment of what is widely regarded as the most picturesque cricket ground in the world, Adelaide Oval. The venue is being remodelled to create a world class 50,000 seat multi-sports facility.
Through out specialist education arm, Cambridge Education, we have developed a team of outstanding consultants with both international and local experience. We have also formed an alliance with Teacher Training Australia (TTA), the country’s largest independent provider of professional development for teachers.

In New Zealand, Mott MacDonald and its legacy companies have supported clients on buildings and infrastructure projects including WaterCare’s Hobson tunnel, Wellington’s historic cable car refurbishment and Huntly Power Station. We recently won a contract as structural engineer on a new science laboratory and glass house research facility at the Mt Albert Campus of Plant & Food Research in Auckland. Our Auckland office offers leading design experience across all aspects of building engineering.
