Mott MacDonald’s managing director Mike Haigh has been named the new chair of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) in the United Kingdom.
With diverse international experience in the infrastructure sector, Mike has developed a strong background in the management, planning and implementation of major projects that he can call upon for this role. Originally joining Mott MacDonald as a graduate water engineer, he has held several key roles at the consultancy before joining their executive board.
Looking ahead to his one-year tenure as ACE chair, Mike has targeted better industry integration, the effective use of digital information and improving diversity and inclusion as some of his key priorities.
Commenting on his appointment, Mike said: “This is a really important time for the infrastructure industry with great opportunities ahead of us. ACE has a strong influence on how our industry responds to ongoing challenges and critical to this will be how we engage across the industry.”
“Having been an active member of the ACE board, including acting as chair of its large consultancy group, I’ve seen the benefits that the association brings to the wider industry. I feel that it is time to give something back and to be able to do that in this role is very worthwhile. I am excited by the year ahead and looking forward to supporting ACE and its members,” Mike added.
