Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Foxconn (Shanghai) Ltd. to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for the CNY850 million (£88.5 million) Shanghai Foxconn Plaza in China.
Located in the financial centre of Shanghai by the Huang Pu River, the 50,000 sq m plaza will be the headquarters of Hong Hai Technology Group. It will comprise 21 stories and four annex levels, as well as a 32,000 sq m basement made up of four floors. There will also be parking spaces for 500 vehicles.
Sam Hung, Mott MacDonald’s project director, said: “The Shanghai Foxconn Plaza is targeting both LEED platinum medal and national two-star green building certificates. The design includes sustainable features such as a double curtain wall façade, rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, solar panels and geothermal heat exchange.”
Construction of the Shanghai Foxconn Plaza is due to be completed by the end of 2017.
