Mott MacDonald has appointed Ian Baird as general manager for its nuclear division. Ian will work globally to expand the consultancy’s nuclear business which includes nuclear new build and defence activity, as well as a continuing focus on decommissioning.
Ian is a chartered civil engineer with 35 years of experience specialising in power and nuclear sectors. He has worked as a designer, manager and director on engineering, procurement and construction of multi-disciplinary projects. He has also helped deliver large megaprojects in the UK and internationally.
Commenting on his appointment, Ian, said: “I’m pleased to take on this role working to expand our nuclear capabilities and clients. We have an extremely skilled team, which I’m excited to lead as we broaden our nuclear focus globally.”
Ian takes over from Tony Kelly who retired from Mott MacDonald in April after 10 years as divisional general manager of nuclear.
