Environmental issues are always given due consideration during the design process and steps are taken to reduce any undesirable impact a scheme may have.
We've been responsible for various projects involving construction works in rivers. These have ranged from major flood alleviation projects, for example, the River Hull Tidal Surge Barrier, to studies of dredging requirements, for example, our work for the River Thames.
Much of our river engineering experience has been in relation to the study, design and implementation of flood alleviation schemes in fluvial and tidal environments. Our river engineers have worked on diversions, river training works, scour protection at bridges, river amenity improvements, river flow gauging stations and flow control structures.
Our team of in-house experts in hydrology, hydraulic modelling, environmental impact assessment, and landscape design work closely with our hydraulic engineers in developing river engineering works.
