Six regional Advance champions work across five UK regions with an additional eight champions who chair groups which focus on gender, race, disability, parents and carers and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender inclusion.
Our champions are provided with dedicated time and budget to support them in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in the UK alongside their day jobs. The UK network has support from the highest levels with sponsorship from our Group chair and strategic leadership from our managing director, human resources director and Advance chair. The network runs events throughout the year on a range of diversity topics linked to national and international events.
We are mapping our EDI blueprint from the UK across the global business, tailoring initiatives to suit local contexts, challenges and opportunities. We are working closely with the Diversity Committee in North America and are establishing Advance in Asia, Australia and New Zealand early in 2017. From Chinese New Year to International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, we mark more than 20 dates each year in our equality, diversity and inclusion calendar.
