The Calculus Project developed by our specialist educational consultancy Cambridge Education has been changing the way high schools in Massachusetts, New York and Florida support African American, Latino and low-income students to achieve success in advanced maths.
Calculus is a branch of maths that cuts something into small pieces to find how it changes, and that is the essence of our scheme.
It is a series of co-ordinated, research supported components implemented over a five-year period, from grade eight to 12. Students on the Calculus programme perform better in state assessments and are consequently more likely to enrol in higher-level maths courses and take on leadership and peer-tutoring roles. Many are majoring in STEM disciplines in some of the most competitive colleges and universities in the country.
The Calculus Project is now an independent not-for-profit organization directed by Dr. Adrian Mims. To learn more, please visit the website.
