Why did you decide to join Mott MacDonald?
I joined Mott MacDonald after a colleague, who had recently left my old company to join Mott MacDonald, told me that they were significantly better than my previous employer.
What is the best thing about your role?
The ability to work on many projects and interact with people who are able to deliver solutions.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Open, friendly, and one in which you can raise any matter and be assured that it is given due consideration.
What is one thing you’ve found out about Mott MacDonald from working here that you think everyone should know?
There is someone somewhere in the company who is able to answer any technical query that you may have. Through the use of internal discussion pages you can make use of the groups worldwide expertise and invariably get a reply to a posted query overnight, allowing you to progress designs with confidence. This process also builds relationships within our global network which can be maintained and developed in the future at internal technical forums.
What is the best thing about the country you live in?
I appreciate where I live and the ability to explore local pubs and the countryside. Having worked on many overseas projects with some for extended periods, I have enjoyed not only the experiences that International travel brings but also I recognise the quality of life that I am able to have being based in the UK.
What is a random fact about you?
My love for all things underground stems from many weekends exploring the UK’s many caves and potholes when younger. This progressed into an early career in mining in Africa before transferring into civil underground construction.
