"Mott MacDonald’s culture is collegiate, consensual, cautious and collaborative."

Why did you decide to join Mott MacDonald?

I was sponsored through University by a contractor so when I left University I wanted to obtain design experience and looked to a consultancy firm to obtain this. I was fortunate to secure a position at our Birmingham office.

What is the best thing about your role?

I get a lot of pleasure by helping others to develop their careers.

How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?

Mott MacDonald’s culture is collegiate, consensual, cautious and collaborative.

When you’re not in the office where can you be found?

Either with family or at a sporting event.

Where have you travelled with Mott MacDonald?

I have enjoyed a wonderful career with Mott MacDonald, working in many different locations. I started my career in Birmingham in England then worked for long periods in Bangor (Wales), Hong Kong, Cambridge (England), New Jersey and Florida (USA). Since returning to the UK I have working in London, Cambridge and Brighton.

What would your perfect day consist of?

It would involve a considerable amount of sport so my perfect day would probably be along the lines of; waking up in a luxury environment followed by a good breakfast (as food could be limited for the rest of the day), a round of competitive golf (best if I win but as long as I play well I would be happy), a light lunch, watching a great game of competitive football (most recently Cambridge United) or rugby (Ospreys, Bethesda or Bedford), a good cup of tea with a snack and then the evening at a major stock car racing event (Birmingham is my favourite track but Five Flags Pensacola is fun). Finally relaxing in some luxurious surroundings with family and friends.
