Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?
The wide breadth of projects that Mott MacDonald undertakes, and that I hence get exposure to. It’s exciting and interesting to be using my core experience and skills on projects that are outside those that I would normally get involved in.
What is the best thing about your role?
The client interaction.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Friendly, open and supportive.
What has been your most memorable project?
Working on the new environmental city, Masdar, built in the desert outside Abu Dhabi. It was fantastic to turn up in the early stages of the project to see nothing but a patch of sand and watch the work grow and see infrastructure appear on that sand.
When you’re not in the office where can you be found?
Every weekend I try to get out on my mountain bike. I live near the Peak District and have cycled far and wide there. I have also cycled up many other hills in the UK including Snowdon and The Old Man of Coniston.
What is a random fact about you?
I love travelling, both with work and for holiday. I’m now into the 90’s of the number of countries that I’ve visited around the world!
