Why did you decide to join Mott MacDonald?
After my graduation my desire was to begin my career in a global firm and I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity to join Mott MacDonald as a graduate engineer in 2014. I was determined to join Mott MacDonald when I was aware of their PRIDE values (Progress, Respect, Integrity, Drive and Excellence) and their professional excellence in a multitude of sectors around the world. Mott MacDonald is highly esteemed for its quality work and it is an employee owned company. I felt that Mott MacDonald was a perfect platform for me to start my career as a graduate.
How many years have you worked for Mott MacDonald, and what has been your proudest achievement to date?
I have been with Mott MacDonald for two years, and my proudest achievement is being recognised by clients for my teamwork and time management skills on projects.
How have you been supported during your career development?
Apart from my own individual interest about learning PHE design, I was guided by my senior engineers the early stages of my employment. Moreover, I had a chance to attend the training sessions and presentations conducted by vendors which gave awareness about the present market availability of materials and its installations. Further knowledge was gained via internal e-learning courses. Quarterly review meetings with my manager helped me to analyse and upgrade my level, and Mott MacDonald has extended its support in promoting the capability of graduates like me via upGRADe.
What advice would you give to aspiring graduates who are applying to Mott MacDonald?
The key skills our graduates need to thrive and progress are confidence, competence and visibility. The company provides many opportunities for graduates and considers them as the future pillars of the business.
