Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?

In planning my career, I preferred companies that could enable me to have a long and rewarding career. As one of the world’s largest employee-owned companies across the globe, it gives me great confidence and safety being part of Mott MacDonald.

Moreover, it’s a company with opportunities and helps young professionals. The offices have busy schedules of training and seminars which enable me to have continual improvement.

What is the best thing about your job?

It is great that I can work on a variety of different engineering models and software.

How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?

It is a company with open, welcome communication that promotes equality. The culture is to achieve the highest goals by sharing knowledge, team work and effective management.

How would you describe your role and responsibilities to friends or family?

I lead a technician team who provide technical support in different kinds of projects.

I am mainly responsible for building up the models, (i.e. Hydraulic, CFD) and I am faced with solving different challenging and technical problems every day.

What has been your favourite Mott MacDonald social event?

‘Hong Kong Sports and Social Club’ is formed by a group of staff from different departments which hold lots of social activities and events for staff and their family members. I am one of the committee members and have been for the past two years.

Among the activities, the annual dinner is the most memorable event for me. It was the first time I was involved in organising such a big event. And I was happy that I won a big prize in the lucky draw!

If you were to live anywhere, where would it be?

My answer is Taiwan! It’s not as densely populated as Hong Kong and has a mild climate with nice people. They speak Mandarin and use the same language as us and Taiwanese respect the natural environment. They have organic and good food. Next to the Chinese delicacies, I like their hot springs and night markets!
