Why did you decide to join Mott MacDonald?
Following my research at university I was looking around and Mott Hay and Anderson, as they were known at the time, offered me a post in Newcastle.

Solving problems and leading design teams.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Clients come to Mott MacDonald as we are developing innovative solutions, which help solve their problems.
How has your career progressed at Mott MacDonald?
Since joining the company I have progressed to the position of technical director and regional practice leader.
How many years have you worked for Mott MacDonald, and what has been your proudest achievement to date?
I have worked for over 36 years in the company, starting with Mott Hay and Anderson on 1st Jan 1980. The design and construction of the Tsing Ma suspension bridge in Hong Kong is my proudest achievement.
Are you involved with any charities or do any volunteer work?
In the past I have been chairman of governors for my children’s school.
Where is your favourite place?
At my age it’s just relaxing by the pool or doing the garden.
What inspires you at work?
Designing infrastructure that will inspire and benefit the community, I also like the buzz of design.
