Why did you decide to join Mott MacDonald?
I joined Dalal consultants in 1988 (the company taken over by Mott MacDonald in 2001). I joined Dalal because I wanted to work on projects and have a career for general management. Both Dalal and Mott MacDonald provided me that opportunity so I was keen to get involved.
What is the best thing about your role?
Getting the opportunity to communicate with various professionals – right from the CEO’s to presidents to young professionals.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Professional, focused but flexible. It is creative and most importantly, it allows the staff to nurture their own competencies and flourish.
What has been your most memorable project?
One of our pharmaceutical projects where I was the lead, because it provided me with the opportunity, responsibility and authority to design, engineer and manage the project. It helped develop my managerial skills. Clients trusted me with their finances. Most importantly, when the finance companies wanted my client to sell his project / investment, I was working on steering the board of investors and also directly dealing with the chairman of the buyer.
How many years have you worked for Mott MacDonald, and what has been your proudest achievement to date?
I've work with Mott MacDonald for 36 years in total. My proudest achievement is how far I have come during that time, rising from a design engineer’s cadre to divisional manager position.
What is your favourite past time?
I really enjoy watching TV and relaxing with a good book.
If you could have lunch with any three people who would they be and why?
The new joiners to Mott MacDonald because the chances of you learning new things are higher than going for lunch with experienced staff.
