Why did you decide to join Mott MacDonald?

I was recruited to lead and manage Mott MacDonald's interests in their joint venture with Balfour Beatty for the management and maintenance of the strategic road network on behalf of Highways England.

What was your first impression of the people at Mott MacDonald?

Very conscientious, hardworking and professional. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

What’s the best thing you’ve learnt about Mott MacDonald (during the recruitment process or since you’ve joined)?

Its global multidisciplinary capability that presents many opportunities. It has a strong focus on safety and looking after its staff.

How would you describe your role and responsibilities to friends or family?

A leader and senior manager directing a team that is responsible for asset management and technical design associated with the strategic road network in the North West around Great Manchester and Merseyside. It is enjoyable and rewarding (most of the time) but hard work and long hours.

When you’re not in the office where can you be found?

I enjoy getting out of the city walking in the countryside or fell walking, particularly the Lake District, and get out as often as I can. I also enjoy rock music and attending concerts.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?

A long holiday to Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea and other surrounding countries; travelling business class and staying in 5 star hotels of course.
