Solar generation estimates and design optimisation heavily rely on feeds of meteorological information. These are typically supplied through both site-based instruments and weather stations operated by local authorities. The process of synthesising this information, conducting relevant analyses and reporting on material discrepancies and issues is manual, time consuming and often results in information being received when it is too late to act. Our clients were interested in being able to monitor the meteorological conditions of a portfolio of sites, understand the performance of their instruments in real-time to take immediate corrective action and to access reports in an interactive manner.
Using Moata Met Wise we were able to automate the collation and analysis of various data feeds, calculate relevant analytics and produce interactive visualisations that delivered real-time information to key decision makers.
The end result was an interactive report, accessible via any web enabled device, that provided real-time information on instrument performance. Moata Met Wise enabled proactive maintenance to maximise the efficiency of the weather measuring campaign, while providing increased confidence in the site conditions for a bankable estimate of the project’s generation potential. Moata Met Wise is scalable and can be extended to multiple sites and sources of renewable generation with the ability to advance into predictive analytics and comprehensive asset management services.
