Health Island, Bahrain
We are providing innovative infrastructure design and supervision services for Dilmunia Health Island to deliver roads, bridges, power, water, sewerage services, district cooling, and a canal. The first facility of its kind, this new island is set to be an international health facility in a resort-style environment based on a man-made island.
Manchester University Hospitals
New medical technologies and changes in patient care require total flexibility of floor space and services. For this project we provided a structural design that allows for easy adaptation over the hospital’s 60-year life. The solution limited noise and vibration while maximizing construction speed and safety, keeping disruption of hospital operations to a minimum.
Houghton Primary Care Centre
Embedding sustainable thinking into all our work brings an array of benefits for our clients. We were the building services engineer for the first healthcare facility to achieve BREEAM Outstanding certification. The facility won seven awards in 2012 for sustainable design. An innovative "thermal wall" along the spine of the building provides natural air flow and maintains the optimum climate with very little additional heating or cooling.
Integrated health campuses, Turkey
We’ve been acting as lenders’ technical and environmental advisor for four integrated health complexes delivered through public-private partnerships at Kayseri, Etlik, and Bilkent in Ankara, and Ikitelli in Istanbul. We are carrying out due diligence and will also assess design, planning and construction, facilities management, and life-cycle proposals. The Etlik and 3,700-bed Bilkent campus will be among the largest in the world.
