Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?
When I moved to the Middle East and started to look for a job, I was offered two jobs, one with Mott MacDonald and one with a Middle East based company. I decided to go with Mott MacDonald after receiving an excellent recommendation from a staff member saying the company respects and value all its employees which were an important aspect for me. I wanted a safe environment to work in where I could share my thoughts and be respected, which I can safely say Mott MacDonald has been able to provide.
What is the best thing about your job?
Working in the human resources department, I would have to say the best things are coming into work every day and having new challenges to overcome as well as the diversification within the company. I meet people with different backgrounds and nationalities who all have different approaches and opinions.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
Excellent. You can walk into any mangers office to talk to them and ask questions. I feel I can approach anyone at all levels with no restrictions, there is great freedom and flexibility.
How has your career developed at Mott MacDonald?
I initially studied to be an accountant and when I joined Mott MacDonald I started as Secretary. I was gradually promoted to the level of Personal assistant to the Divisional manager and when a position opened up in the HR team, I was put forward for it even though I lacked the relevant qualifications. I had steady growth within the organisation. The Charitable Trust Award provided by the company really was the ‘icing on the cake’, which was of great help to achieve my professional qualification in HR. I have my managers to thank for where I am today and the company for giving me that opportunity and feeling fully supported.
When you’re not in the office where can you be found?
Anywhere with my family, would definitely say I am a family person when not at work.
What is a fact about you?
I am a highly reliable person, if I have been given a task to complete by my manager, they can consider it done. I take my responsibilities seriously, feel accountable and am very trustworthy.
