Why did you choose to join Mott MacDonald?
I’ve always aimed to work in Asia and Mott MacDonald has now given me that opportunity. Prior to joining Mott MacDonald, I had worked within a similar multidisciplinary consultancy back home in Australia. A number of former colleagues had very positive things to say about Mott MacDonald. When this opportunity came up, I decided it would be great idea to work for a company with a similar corporate culture to the one I’ve been accustomed to. Mott MacDonald’s international reputation in industry was also a factor that appealed to me.
What is the best thing about your role?
I am currently located fulltime within a project office. I enjoy working closely with external architects, contractors and other disciplines. Working at a site office provides valuable insight into the whole project lifecycle. It is a positive experience to be client facing, on site and representing Mott MacDonald in a collaborative environment.
How would you describe the culture of Mott MacDonald?
I’d say the culture certainly varies differently from each individual office and each individual country. Certainly the project office I’ve been involved with at my time in Mott MacDonald has had an easy going culture of flexibility, encouragement as well as a good work ethic.
Where have you travelled with Mott MacDonald?
Hong Kong and Macau for work.
When you’re not in the office where can you be found?
Skiing if possible! If not, taking as many weekend trips to nearby countries, or hanging out for a beer with the other Mott MacDonald guys in Macau.
If you could only eat one food for a whole a day, what would it be?
A thick juicy T-Bone steak with mushroom sauce….Anything but roast duck on rice.
