Job Description

Mott MacDonald has a job opening in the Washington DC Metropolitan area for a smart infrastructure team leader who will:<o:p></o:p>

  • Develop and implement projects to transform conventional water infrastructure to smart water infrastructure comprising embedded sensors, smart meters, digital controls, and other smart devices<o:p></o:p>
  • Evaluate, select, and install analytic tools and associated information and communications technology systems.<o:p></o:p>
  • Support data preparation process for sourcing, shaping, cleansing, and sharing diverse live data to accelerate data analytics.<o:p></o:p>
  • Manage installation of software and hardware solutions that can filter, aggregate, enrich, and analyze live data streams and enable clients to discover, evaluate, optimize, and deploy predictive models to improve infrastructure performance or mitigate asset failure risk.<o:p></o:p>
  • Facilitate collaboration of high-performing technical teams consisting of automation & control engineers, electrical engineers, data management specialists, software architects, systems engineers and project technical leads, and work closely with program management, project management, and operations management teams to control project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.<o:p></o:p>
  • Effectively manage stakeholder engagement on smart water infrastructure projects with competing priorities, diverse stakeholder expectations and tight budgetary constraints.<o:p></o:p>
  • Engage in marketing smart infrastructure expertise to potential utility clients in North America.<o:p></o:p>

Candidate Specification

  • Develop opportunities and implement projects to transform conventional water and wastewater infrastructure to smart water and wastewater infrastructure comprising embedded sensors, smart meters, digital controls, and other smart devices.
  • Develop proposals and business cases to clearly show the value (commercial, safety, environmental protection, CAPEX, OPS) of smart infrastructure.
  • Evaluate, select, specify and/or install analytic tools and associated information and communications technology systems.
  • Support data preparation process for sourcing, shaping, cleansing, and sharing diverse live data to accelerate data analytics.
  • Manage installation of software and hardware solutions that can filter, aggregate, enrich, and analyze live data streams and enable clients to discover, evaluate, optimize, and deploy predictive models to improve infrastructure performance or mitigate asset failure risk. Oversee the commissioning of such systems.
  • Facilitate collaboration of high-performing technical teams consisting of automation & control engineers, hydraulic (water and wastewater) engineers, electrical engineers, data management specialists, software architects, systems engineers and project technical leads, and work closely with program management, project management, and operations management teams to control project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk.
  • Effectively manage stakeholder engagement on smart water/wastewater infrastructure projects with competing priorities, diverse stakeholder expectations and tight budgetary and delivery constraints.
  • Engage in marketing smart infrastructure expertise to potential utility clients across North America.
