Job Description

The electrical project manager will be responsible for managing projects for electrical engineering analyses and design.

Able to provide:

• Project management with client focus
• Project controls, cost analysis and control, change control and project progress and performance
• Responsiveness with attention to detail
• Manage document control and change management processes
• Technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems
• Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
• Thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
• Continuous improvement of job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Lead project teams to deliver project scope and outcomes
• Act as a team member of the project management function, enabling successful delivery of the programs
• Proactively seek information from stakeholder, technical managers, management and other key stakeholders to assist in the development of projects
• Coordinate communications across the project team and between projects
• Practice and encourage open and effective communication internally and externally in order to build and nurture effective working relationships
• Undertake the production of project monthly progress reports and other reports as required for reporting purposes
• Undertake and record regular project progress meetings
• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders as required to support the development, understanding and delivery of project deliverables and milestones
• Support the development and delivery of project management capability and capacity
• Work closely with the project sponsor, client, SMEs and vendors to support the development and maintenance of an integrated logic linked resource loaded project schedule
• Analyze threats and opportunities that may impact the schedule and create corrective action plans with project team members and project sponsors
• Conduct impact assessments of the change requests on the integrated schedule and its components to support decision making; ensure changes for the project are tracked and managed
• Undertake risk and issues workshops to identify and capture risk and issues with mitigations strategies and actions
• Regularly review and update risk and issues to support project team members in driving mitigation actions
• Undertake capacity planning and resource loading for the projects
• Coordinate resources for assigned projects

Candidate Specification

• Four or more years experience
as a project manager as well as knowledge of high voltage electrical equipment or design
• Successful candidates will be qualified with a degree in engineering, mathematics, or other appropriate discipline
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems
• Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
• Thorough and accurate reports, correspondence, documentation
• Understanding of HV / EHV electrical engineering theories and principles preferred
• Continuous improvement of job-related and professional knowledge, skills and performance
• Supports company’s goals and represents the company positively and professionally
• Strong command of Microsoft Office
• Experience working with clients and supporting marketing presentations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
