Assistant Project Manager - Transportation

Job Profile

The advisory and programme delivery division delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity from £million’s to £20bn, through the technical disciplines of programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting, education and healthcare management.

Our transportation portfolio is primarily a UK based business working in three key sectors of rail, highways and aviation.
We deliver programme, project and commercial management services to clients in mainland Europe, Africa, Middle East, India and Australasia and supporting other parts of the transportation business across the globe.

Job Description

Key tasks will include:
  • Undertake coordination of project tasks as directed by the project management team
  • Provide day to day support to the project manager
  • Manage the development and delivery of projects
  • Establish effective communications across the project delivery, client and stakeholder teams
  • Contribute to the control of the internal and external commercial aspects of projects across a range of contractual arrangements
  • Support and manage the delivery of projects in accordance with the quality plan, including participation in regular internal and client audits

Candidate Specification

To be considered you'll need to have had experience working within the construction sector along with:
  • Delivering projects to time, quality and budget
  • Contributing to open communications across the project delivery/client teams
  • Implementing problem solving and decision making
  • Adopting programme and business management systems across project team
  • Controlling the internal and external commercial aspects of projects across a range of contractual arrangements
  • Developing and monitoring the project program
  • Monitoring budgets and costs and take appropriate action
  • Identifying and managing contractual risks
