Predict; prepare; protect - we provide top quality flood modelling and forecasting services, working to help our clients to understand and mitigate flood risk in order to protect the population, design more resilient infrastructure, and prepare for the challenges that climate change will pose. Demand for these services continues to grow, and in response to this we are keen to engage a talented principal flood modeller or flood risk specialist to strengthen our team. This position can be offered on a full-time or a part-time basis.

Responsible for delivering flood modelling projects, checking hydraulic models, and providing specialist support to internal and external clients to help them deliver complex multidisciplinary projects.
The opportunity to work on a broad range of UK and international projects ranging from flood risk assessments and flood defence schemes to reservoir safety and national flood mapping studies.
You will be supported to develop your own skills and experience allowing you to progress your professional career.
To be successful you will have studied a geography, environmental science, engineering, software or physics-based degree and you will either be working towards Chartership or have recently become chartered and your post-graduate experience will include all or some of the activities listed above. You will report to a senior hydraulic modeller or engineer and who will support you in progressing your career.
Chartered or nearly chartered with a related professional organisation (eg: CIWEM, ICE)
Relevant degree-level qualifications (e.g. hydrology, geography, mathematics, civil engineering, or other related disciplines)
Previous experience in delivering flood modelling studies/flood risk assessments for both public and private sector clients
Strong interest in flood risk management and related environmental areas
Good foundation of understanding in pluvial, fluvial and coastal hydraulic modelling
Competent in modelling and geo-spatial packages (eg: ISIS/Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, FEH, ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS)
