Job Description

Our Raleigh, NC office is seeking a senior office engineer to join our team. In this position you will be working in a construction office comprised of Architectural, Civil/Structural, Mechanical and Electrical professionals helping to oversee a capital improvement program. The team conducts a comprehensive review and technical evaluation of design drawings, specifications, and budget of each project submitted by contracted designers and owners. This position will provide contract assistance and evaluation to State Agencies for the design and construction of state capital improvement projects

Responsibilities include:
  • Contract Review
    • Receive design contract documentation from designers and owners.
    • Review design contract documentation for compliance with state requirements.
    • Obtain corrected documents as necessary.
    • Obtain proper approvals and prepare approval letter to owners for award of design contracts.
    • Return approved design contracts for signature by all parties.
    • Receive completed approved design contracts for distribution.

Candidate Specification

  • B.S. or Associates degree in Engineering, Construction, Engineering Technology or similar
  • 10-15+ years experience in design or construction for building systems or vertical structures
  • Basic understanding of building system design and evaluation
  • Must be able to work effectively with a broad range of people e.g. tradesman and laborers on job site, design professionals, high-level government administrators and elected officials
  • Strong computer skills are required
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills required
