We are looking to expand our transport planning team in Leeds and are looking for a transport planner to support our capability to deliver high quality, cost effective and tailored solutions to our public and private sector clients.

Job Description

As a Graduate Transport Planner, you will be involved in a range of high profile and challenging projects and will become an integral member of the team, providing technical inputs and support to senior transport planners and our internal project managers.

Roles will be challenging, and varied and will offer great opportunities for the development of technical and personal skills and career development through the training support we provide towards achieving a professional qualification.

This post would be working to support senior staff and responsibilities as part of a team would include:
  • Assisting in assessing the impacts of developments
  • Assisting in the development and commissioning of transport surveys
  • Analysing transport data
  • Drawing conclusions from technical analysis and presenting the findings
  • Assisting in the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
  • Assisting senior staff providing technical advice in relation to feasibility proposals for developments
  • Working as part of a team to develop and run transport models and appraisals

Candidate Specification

Candidates should have the following skills and experience to be considered for this role:

Essential requirements:
  • A Degree in a Transport Planning related subject (eg Transport Planning, Geography, Mathematics) or an equivalent and relevant qualification
  • A genuine interest in Transport Planning and a desire to achieve a related professional qualification
  • High levels of IT, numeracy and literacy skills
  • A methodical approach and a strong attention to detail
  • The ability to be adaptable and be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A practical approach to problem solving
  • Experience of working as part of an integrated team
  • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff up to a senior level
  • Motivated to learn on the job as well as undertake training

Desirable requirements:
  • Will have some relevant experience in the transport planning field
  • Be able to prioritise and manage time effectively
