Job Description

Reporting to the Discipline Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing technical and commercial leadership to our Civil Engineering teams from feasibility and initial planning through detailed design to construction and commissioning. You will work across a broad range of developments but with focus on transport infrastructure and other infrastructure underpinning successful urban development.

In addition to leading with your technical knowledge and experience, you will contribute to identifying and developing business opportunities and supporting our regional organisation with advice and input as necessary.

Your Next Challenge
  • Technical leader and advisor in planning, design and construction supervision of civil engineering aspects of infrastructure projects. You will be able to lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • As Project Director or Project Manager, you will deliver projects meeting the client’s requirements, cost effectively and efficiently. You will be responsible for project budgeting, project finance management and project performance where appropriate.
  • Participate in fee proposals, technical bids and preparation of presentations to support business development.
  • Develop client relationships and attend business related functions.
  • Lead a team of technical staff and be responsible for staff management and development.
  • Encourage cross regional collaboration and support.
  • Lead technical excellence and learning in the pursuit of professional excellence.
  • Attend design meetings, site meetings and other project related meetings as necessary.

Candidate Specification

What You'll Need
  • Enthusiasm to work on, and lead challenging projects.
  • You will be receptive to adopting new techniques whilst having the capacity to identify and address design, programme and client-side risks.
  • Your outlook will be client-centric and collaborative; technical excellence will be important to you.
  • Degree holder in Civil Engineering or related disciplines
  • Around 10 years of post-chartered experience; a Registered Professional Engineer is preferred.
  • Experience in planning, design, construction supervision and project management, ideally working for government, quasi-government and private clients.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with different stakeholders and nationalities effectively in a fast paced environment where priorities change quickly.
  • Good interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
  • Be proactive, high energy, quality oriented and have a high sense of accountability.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and ideally Cantonese.
