- Technical oversight and mentoring of junior to senior technical staff
- Technical representation for Canadian business development opportunities
- Depending on group workload, the role may involve project delivery and Engineer of Record responsibility for Canadian pipeline projects
As the qualified candidate, you possess:
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia
15+ years of direct pipeline engineering experience
Strong technical leadership skills
Strong communication and problem solving skills
Demonstrated lead engineer on a variety of pipeline engineering packages from conceptual design through to detailed IFC pipeline engineering packages
Demonstrated responsibility as Engineer of Record for authenticating IFC detailed pipeline engineering packages
Detailed understanding of oil and gas pipeline design and construction codes, requirements, regulations, and good industry practices. Detailed understanding of relevant CSA, API and ASME codes and standards.
Demonstrated development and implementation of technical process and procedure.
Detailed understanding of core pipeline engineering design including:
Alignment sheet development
valve and trap design
Good understanding of key pipeline specialty design:
Good understanding of key pipeline design interfaces:
Construction inputs (ROW, workspace design, constructability)
Geotechnical programs and design (terrain evaluation, geohazards)
Hydrotechnical program and design (scour depth, flood levels)
It would be an asset if the candidate possessed knowledge in the following areas:
Strain based design
