Job Description

Responsibilities & Duties include:
  • Work as part of project teams to provide technical leadership for rail transit projects
  • Civil Engineer responsibilities including coordination of work packages, project reporting and controls.
  • Preparation and presentation of technical reports and memoranda
  • Liaise with and report on key client meetings and manage other stakeholder liaisons, as required
  • Support the management of multi-disciplinary design teams to help ensure the development of a properly integrated project
  • Help manage projects and work flows effectively, ensuring that our work is delivered to meet schedule, quality and budget requirements.
  • Develop relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders to continue to promote Mott MacDonald effectively and the services we offer, including involvement in business development activities
  • Develop capabilities with a view to undertaking roles of increasing responsibility
  • Develop technical skills in a wide variety of technical, legal and financial areas as is the nature of a complex multi-disciplined transit project.

Candidate Specification

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have experience working within our primary markets along with having the following candidate specifications:
  • Civil Engineering or other transportation related field from an accredited University
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Rail Transit preliminary and final design
  • Experience with a project engineer
  • Good understanding of multi-disciplinary element necessary for rail transit projects
Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience with Microstation and Geopak
  • Good writing and public presentation skills.
  • Experience with Class I railroads; coordination, design and/or construction of rail assets
