Job Profile

You will be working as part of the project information management team responsible for all matters related to document management. The role will report directly to the information manager.
In this role you will part he High Speed 2 railway project.

This role is being offered on a
fixed term basis for 1 year.

Job Description

  • Develop document management procedure and processes that will facilitate effective capture, storage, control and delivery, of all formally released/issued documents and records
  • Provide support to information manager in the implementation of common data environment
  • Provide support and manage workload within document control team
  • Ensure smooth and timely turnaround of project reviews and submittals
  • Effective use of client’s document control systems
  • Assist engineering teams in quality acceptance of deliverables and other submissions often working to tight deadlines
  • Ensure documentation procedures are adhered to and demonstrable for audit purposes
  • Maintain project controlled documentation
  • Liaise with documentation managers and controllers in external client organisations
  • Support management of account security including creating user accounts, permissions and passwords
  • Liaise with engineers, client, suppliers and third party companies in all matters related to document management
  • Assist the project team in all matters related to document management

Candidate Specification

You will have experience in similar role in an engineering and construction environment with full exposure to major project work:
  • Experience in working on large engineering and construction projects is essential
  • Working knowledge of Project Wise System
  • Educated to degree level not necessarily in engineering
  • Understanding of engineering processes on multidisciplinary design and build contract
  • Experience in configuring and administering electronic document management systems
  • Familiar with common data environment principles
  • Familiar with BS1192 and PAS1192 standards
  • Familiar with NEC contract framework and project controls processes
  • Good analytical, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to priorities and organise workload without supervision
  • Ability to work in accordance with the applicable project procedure
  • Working knowledge of MS Packages - Word, Excel and PowerPoint,
  • Working knowledge of using Adobe or a similar package
  • Appreciation of document control processes
