Acting as part of the Newcastle Water team, you will work closely with others on wastewater and drainage studies, from feasibility through to detailed design, leading and managing a team of modellers, technicians and analysts. You will also be asked to focus on our Flood Risk Management business case work, delivering for our public sector clients. You will be client-facing and have the skill, confidence and initiative to bring forward innovation and help to maintain Mott MacDonald at the forefront of this highly specialised area. Job Description

We are seeking a Chartered (or near) Civil Engineer to work within the Buildings and Infrastructure Unit. The successful applicant will report directly to the Sector Lead in the Newcastle upon Tyne office. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development. The focus of the role is analysing and solving existing problems which can include property flooding. As a Project Manager,
the key elements of the role include:
  • Delivery of projects to cost and quality
  • Provide leadership of existing multi-disciplinary teams
  • Lead a team of modellers, graduate engineers and technicians in project work to analyse existing problems and identify solutions, from feasibility stage through design and construction.
  • Develop and deliver business cases for FRM schemes
  • Lead design delivery to our D&B contractor partners.
  • Manage specialist inputs as required, including analysis and costing elements
  • Close liaison with the Client to ensure the project remains on track, delivering client satisfaction at all stages.
  • Constantly seek efficiencies in our work including driving our BIM initiatives forward
  • Seek and develop opportunities for business growth.

Candidate Specification

The successful candidate will need/have:
  • Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline
  • Chartered (or near) status with a recognised Institution
  • Clear logical thinker, good communicator
  • Strong report writing skills
