Job Description

We are looking for a HR shared service manager to develop our newly established HR Shared Service Centre (HRSSC). For this role you need to have experience of global mobility, visa and work permit applications/implementation and security clearance checks.

Key Responsibilities
You will motivate your 16-member strong administration team to deliver; professional, effective, and efficient HR transactional administration which supports our wider organisation, ensuring that business priorities are achieved in the most efficient way. Alongside leading and managing your team, you will; liaise with key stakeholders, senior managers, and your peers, perpetually seeking develop and improve KPI’s, SLA’s and the quality of customer service provided.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Propose and manage annual budgets
  • Retain and update workforce plan to ensure the numbers of staff and skills within the team comply with the plan
  • Implement ideas and theories which will influence the business into accepting changes to ways of working
  • Conduct regular 1-1’s with your team members and identify training needs by setting clearly defined objectives
  • Regularly seek feedback from stakeholders on the performance and productivity of the HRSSC to ensure that standards are being met and issues dealt with
  • Knowledge and understanding of HR Administration and Management Information (MI) reporting
  • Undertake other duties, training and or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the levels of responsibility of this role.

Candidate Specification

As the shared service manager, you will be expected to have a high level understanding of HR issues and strong knowledge of a HRSSC that provides transactional and administrative tasks to a complex/matrix organisation.Additionally, you will need to have strong knowledge surrounding HR issues, processes, and procedures. A thorough understanding of data protection legislation/UK employment law, it’s implications and the need to comply is also essential.

You will also need to have experience in the following areas:
  • Managing a team and able to demonstrate achievement of performance and efficiency benefits through excellent coaching and people development
  • Managing a budget and other resources
  • Have worked with SLA’s/KPI’s and working to deadlines
  • Providing MI reports, including providing the HRD with high quality information as required
