Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Rolling Stock/Vehicle Engineer based in our Toronto office. You will be involved in the delivery of a range of transportation related projects for Mott MacDonald in Canada and United States, as well as supporting other parts of the international business.

As a Rolling Stock/Vehicle Engineer working as an integral part of the transit team, you will:
  • Provide specialist technical expertise to clients on their feasibility studies, tenders, ongoing projects, operations and maintenance,
  • Provide high level technical service to internal and external clients,
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects / studies and collaborate with numerous other disciplines,
  • Prepare technical reports in an efficient manner,
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposal documents,
  • Be responsible for the cost effectiveness of the projects,
The ideal candidate will also be willing to contribute to projects within other sectors and offices, as required.

Candidate Specification

You will have experience in rolling stock and transportation market segments and possess the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • P.Eng License, or eligibility for licensing
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a mechanical engineer with specialized experience in rolling stock
  • Experience in advising or managing the operation and maintenance of rolling stock
  • Working knowledge in the specification or maintenance of modern LRVs
  • Proficient in the use of typical office packages such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project and other comparable such programs including the desire to utilize the full capabilities of Office365.
  • Excellent communicator (both oral and written) and skilled problem-solver with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is paramount.
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude, to working with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments, and
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain good working relationships with clients and project teams
