Job Description

The Digital Support Team (IT) in NASA is focused on providing seamless support across our projects, people and systems, enabling our business to be digital by default.
Project Support Lead promotes the use of smart toolsets and processes across business practices as well as delivering internal digital engineering and consulting services to NASA projects. This provides an exciting working environment as new business requirements provide opportunities for new technologies to move into production.

As a Digital Projects Support Lead you will provide leadership to a network of digital delivery resources across the units in NASA, and ensure that their development is in line with Mott MacDonald’s global sector, practice and IT strategies. As a leader in the region’s digital delivery, you will also support technology planning for many projects, and provide support for major projects; taking responsibility for ensuring projects understand technology risks and opportunities.
You will work with and between other technology functions within the region such as workplace and infrastructure services to ensure needs outlined in project plans are met.

You will engage with the unit representatives and regional sector and practice representatives, and keep them informed of global initiatives and ensure regional services remain relevant to business strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Interfaces
  • Working closely with regional and unit
    business stakeholders to drive success of the Mott MacDonald GoDigital Strategy in NASA
  • Providing Project Support to NASA projects – Bid to Handover
  • Work closely with the BIM, GIS and sector and practice technology representatives to ensure emerging standard ways of working are implemented in the region
  • Working closely with local and global operational IT teams to ensure coordination of resource in for project needs
  • Helping fee earning projects to develop business opportunities that add value to the NASA region and our clients
  • Identifying internal and external technical partnerships to provide capacity and capability to NASA projects
  • Providing guidance and feedback on potential emerging digital delivery tools and processes
  • Interfacing with internal and external parties on the development of Digital Delivery in the industry
  • Understanding external customer requirements for Digital Delivery
  • Ensuring NASA standards for Digital Delivery in the region are relevant and maintained

Candidate Specification

Formal Education & Certification
  • University degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related subject - Essential
  • Formal Project Management accreditation (PRINCE2 / APMP) - Desirable
Knowledge and Experience
  • 5-10+ years of experience in delivering technology enabled or digital delivery related projects in suitable industries, preferably the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry, to include
    • at least 5 years of experience in delivering consultancy services
    • at least 5 years of experience in managing teams
    • experience in preparing and delivering business cases to senior stakeholders
    • experience of managing or leading design teams in multi-disciplinary and complex projects
