Job Description

About the role

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of projects across multiple sectors (infrastructure, water, urban development). You will be part of a dynamic ecology practice who work collaboratively to deliver ecological support, working together to ensure the development of its members.

This role will suit an ecologist with previous experience in a similar role client facing role in a consultancy environment.

You will be office based however there will be a requirement to undertake site surveys and attend client meetings. In addition, there may be a need for general ecological support to a range of projects within an environmental team, working closely with other disciplines to ensure ecological objectives for projects are delivered successfully, within budget and to programme.

Candidate Specification

About you

In order to give our clients, the support they need, we are looking for likeminded, forward thinking individuals with the ability to approach challenges from a fresh angle and provide our clients with sustainable solutions.

• Degree in ecology/ biology or directly related subject (minimum of 2.1 classification)
• Associate or full member of CIEEM
• Protected species survey licenses
• Experience of undertaking ecological watching briefs on construction sites
• Relevant experience connected with major infrastructure schemes in a consultancy environment
• Strong report writing skills, attention to detail and ability to write concise reports
• Experience in liaising with design engineers to achieve positive ecological outcomes.
• Experience in preparation and writing ecological sections of environmental impact assessments ensuring that legislative guidelines are met
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork in the UK
• Knowledge of wildlife legislation
• Strong report writing skills
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Basic GIS skills
