Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:

The Contracts manager's task is to ensure that all contract agreements are acceptable to MMPL and do not expose MMPL to any unacceptable risk. This generally includes oversight of the contract management process, contract document management, as well as advice on; contracts at proposal stage, contract negotiations and contract administration. The role requires collaboration with all departments including, but not limited to, operations, bidding, projects, legal and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Review contracts at proposal stage and recommend amendments or other risk mitigations
  • Draft alternative contract clauses, where required, and support project teams to negotiate and finalise contracts
  • Single point of contact with project teams for all contractual matters
  • Manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation
  • Advise operations and projects teams on contract-related issue resolution
  • Support project teams to complete contract close-out, extension or renewal, as appropriate
  • Communicate contract-related information to all stakeholders
  • Deliver training to stakeholders on contractual issues

Candidate Specification

Essential Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree essential and Masters level qualification desirable - law / contracts / corporate & company administration
  • Minimum of three years progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in construction and design engineering contract arbitration, within a premier legal firm in India
  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Robust skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Ability to meet project objectives within designated constraints
