Job Description

Job Function:
The SPI Administrator is the SPI product owner for a project, and is responsible for overall SPI system setup, configuration, and day to day operation.
The SPI Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all projects are configured per project standards and requirements for oil and gas industry preferably offshore, upstream and downstream processing.

Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required;
  • Possesses strong Instrument / Electrical design experience with a good understanding of instrument naming conventions including wiring, loops and control system tags.
  • Should be able to implement, setup and configure SPI projects
  • Should be able to configure project SPI procedures - fit for purpose such as Permission groups, project hierarchy, WBS.
  • Software installation and configuration
  • Project creation and archiving, backups, and restoration
  • Management of project specific SPI usage
  • Able to resolve SPI issues related to project specific
  • For maintaining and updating the database required.
  • Ensuring that before configuration changes are made that they comply with change management control procedures and are documented and communicated clearly and are reflected to the database structure.
  • Monitor the SPI Application to ensure compliance by users contributing data, monitor project information, merge changes, review database change requests, review symbol change requests, review output reports for consistency.
  • Carry out necessary changes in standard templates based on project requirement.
  • Responsible for overall SPI setup & configuration ensuring as per project standards & requirement.
  • Co-ordination with Discipline Engineers & Designers when required.
  • Consolidate /Merge SPI database and trouble shoot issues
  • General drafting abilities, all aspects, Drawing and report creation and extraction
  • Ability to work in flexible hours, occasionally more than working hours per week to meet client deadlines
  • Be able to work in a team environment and manage multiple project responsibilities.
  • Make sure all appropriate assurance reviews have been conducted for project handover and as building for contractors.

Candidate Specification

Additional beneficial skills
  • Knowledge of SmartSketch and MicroStation
  • Knowledge of Oracle, C language and Visual Basic
  • Ability to write SPI Specifications and User Guides
  • Knowledge of SPI implementation requirements.
  • Familiarity with estimating, scheduling and executing SPI implementations
  • Familiarity with the SPI Merger Utility
  • SQL Server and Oracle database familiarity
  • Experience in Hosting SPI projects for Multi EPC or workshare projects
  • Ability to provide training and instruction on SPI
  • Knowledge of SPI Operating Owner Mode
  • Familiarity with the Project As Built mode functionality
  • Experienced with the Merger Module and being able to trouble shoot issues.
  • Experience in Hosting SPI projects for Multi EPC or workshare projects
IT Skill Sets:
  • Ability to install SPI software and configure for project use, including but not limited to;
  • Software installation and configuration
  • Project creation and archiving, backups, and restoration
  • Project configuration; Permission groups, project hierarchy, WBS
  • Catalog and Symbol Development
  • Drawing and Report Configuration
  • General drafting abilities, all aspects
  • Drawing and report creation and extraction
  • Ability to use Infomaker
  • A detailed knowledge of SPI Table structures
  • A detailed knowledge of SPI Import Module
  • Knowledge of SPI deployment for Multi EPC or workshare Projects
  • Report Development including customized reports
  • Databases and deliverables compliance verification
  • Handover of Project design and reference data
  • Multi-discipline workflow co-ordination
  • Strong verbal, written communications skills in English.

Requisite Qualification:
• 5+ Years SPI use at an admin level
• 7 to 10+ years EPC engineering/design.
• Graduate Instrumentation Engineer or Electronics Engineer
