Job Description
We are looking for a senior consultant level transport planner to join our Integrated Transport Division and play a part in growing our business.

As part of the Central Birmingham team, you will be integrated within a range of planning and engineering projects; driving projects to successful delivery. You will be a key addition to the team, contributing to the continued development of Mott MacDonald’s market presence and the ongoing growth of the Transport Planning business.

Job Description

Responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Managing junior staff, providing briefings and checking technical work
  • Managing budgets and programmes that match ability
  • Mentoring and training junior team members
  • Proposal and report writing
  • Contribute to identifying new client opportunities, business development
  • Managing projects including responsibility for resources and financials

Candidate Specification

Candidate Specification
  • Degree in a related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Experience in transport planning with demonstrable skills in all or some of the following:
    • development planning
    • traffic engineering
    • master planning
    • feasibility studies
    • sustainable transport planning
  • Proven record of building client relationships and commercial/business acumen.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of junction capacity modelling tools and techniques.
  • MSc or further postgraduate qualifications related to transport planning or transport engineering would be valued for any applicant
  • A member of a relevant professional organisation (such as IHT, ILT, TPS or ICE) ideally on route to chartered status
  • Experience of AutoCAD and GIS software such are ArcGIS & MapInfo
  • Knowledge of strategic and micro-simulation modelling techniques would be of benefit.
  • Experience in business development activities, preferably able to demonstrate successful input to bids/tenders.
