About the division

 

The Water Consultancy Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to water and wastewater challenges, offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations and protecting our environment. Our multi-disciplinary teams provide a variety of services throughout the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies, through outline and detailed design, to construction support and site supervision.

Overview of role

As part of our rivers team, you will be able to make a difference, enabling sustainable water stewardship, increasing resilience against floods and droughts, and improving water quality with nature-based solutions.

 

You will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists, supporting the preparation of engineering studies, calculations and outline/detailed civil engineering designs; producing technical and commercial specifications, drawings and schedules; and carrying out site supervision duties. You will support working in close partnership with clients and contractors, building strong relationships that will enhance the company’s reputation and help secure further work. As such, we are seeking Civil and / or Hydraulic Engineers specialising in river engineering who wish to develop their skill sets in both technical and / or commercial management with the anticipation of moving into roles of increasing responsibility.

 

This role will present you with a fantastic opportunity to further develop your technical and managerial skills through your project work, with great prospects for career progression and positive social impact through projects as the business continues to grow. or candidates seeking a broader career path, we can support your development in a diverse range of roles in either project management, business development, line management, mentoring and resource management.

 

Candidate specification 

 

We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following:

 

  • Professional experience of river / flood management and /or hydraulic structures 
  • Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multi-disciplinary teams with other technical disciplines including environmental specialists, geotechnical, structural and mechanical engineers
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams 
  • Experience of managing clients and other project stakeholders 
  • Chartered / Incorporated Civil Engineer  
  • Understanding of designer’s responsibilities under CDM regulations
