Our global LNG capabilities and experience, when combined with in-house ports, shipping, power, environmental and project management offerings, puts Mott MacDonald in a unique position.
Our involvement at the earliest possible phase of major projects liaising with potential stakeholders including governments, developers, lenders and major gas field owners means we often influence investment decisions. Following project sanction we can design and engineer all aspects of LNG and FLNG developments.
South Hook LNG, UK – we provided engineering, procurement and contract support for the development of a 500MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant and integration with the adjacent South Hook liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Wales.
The design was developed to ensure no disturbance to gas export during construction and on completion the two plants will form a highly efficient collective energy hub.
FLNG technical issues project, Pakistan – we were contracted as lender’s technical advisor to conduct a review and assessment of the technical issues to identify project risks for a FLNG regasification facility. We highlighted potential risks and made recommendations for further review of specific areas in the next phase (FEED).
LNG terminal study, East Africa – we undertook a comprehensive feasibility study for a LNG import and regasification terminal. We analysed natural gas demand, identified the site and carried out conceptual design of import terminal facilities and ancillary infrastructure. We provided a high level environmental assessment, determination of regulatory requirements and an economic analysis of the project.
