The IT Engineering Applications Specialist is responsible for the engineering applications in Asia Pacific region and the IT management of Autodesk, Bentley and other engineering applications used within the business to:
Administer and coordinate a number of Mott MacDonald vendor service accounts including, but not limited to Autodesk, Bentley Systems, Global eTraining and KnowledgeSmart to ensure the vendor delivers the value Mott MacDonald is expecting through adoption and use of progressive technology and utilisation
Monitoring and tracking usage, measuring value, and optimising the way these services are being used within the business.
Work with IT team. Practice Leaders and Sector Leaders to ensure the engineering application services are aligned to and deliver business needs.
Manage service improvement activities for engineering software
Provide 4th line support, maintain and troubleshoot engineering applications including Bentley Systems and Autodesk applications.
Improve knowledge and capability within IT to support engineering applications.
Support the Application Packaging team by providing guidance, and expertise on engineering application deployment requirements.
Ensure Knowledge based articles are created and maintained to the correct technical standard.
Identify training requirements for engineering applications working with IT team and the different engineering sectors / disciplines.
Provide technical assurance and involvement in the change management process.
Coordinate engineering application testing for new versions and hot fixes.
Actively manage Problems related to engineering applications working with the IT team and 3rd parties.
Ensure that new versions and hotfixes are deployed in an appropriate timeframe.
Act as a point of contact for engineering applications service related issues and implement service improvements to continually improve the service.
Provide technical expertise to Bid and Project teams.
Identify regional differences in configuration and maintain configuration documentation.
Manage 3rd party Incident escalation ensuring the right resources are made available to expedite resolution.
Promote application usage and best practise.
Ensure that all the approved engineering applications are kept up-to-date on the IT Service Catalogue.
Perform service reviews to effectively manage the application in line with ITIL processes.
Work with the security team to ensure that the engineering applications are aligned to the security standards and policies.
Work with Learning and Development to create training content on how to use and get the most out of the engineering applications.
- Educated to degree level, preferably in an IT or engineering related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an IT Service Delivery environment in a large organisation.
- Strong understanding of standard software used in engineering design and how they inter-relate/interact with other programs and peripherals.
- Incident, Problem and Change management.
- Demonstrable experience of building strong and productive relationships with key business customers.
- Experience delivering technical support in an engineering using Autodesk and Bentley products.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Advanced understanding of the engineering design process
- Formal accreditation in ITIL v3 or other best practice framework desired but not required.
