Structural CAD technician

Job Profile

We are currently recruiting for a structural CAD technician to join our experienced buildings structures team in Belfast, to help further promote and develop the office within the local market as well as supporting the businesses growth, in a role that provides the potential for great reward, skill set and career development.

Job Description

To be successful in this role you will need to ensure work is completed accurately with good attention to detail. You must also be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and advise on programming of work.

Key duties will include:
  • Produce detailed 2-D structural documentation from 3-D models suitable for all stages of the design process using company standard CAD systems, processes and procedures.
  • Organization of Structural drawings and documents and responsibility for the project maintenance of incoming and outgoing drawing register & management of online document systems.
  • Positive interaction with both senior and junior staff alike and within the client environment
  • Pro-actively maintain an understanding of the latest developments in BIM

Candidate Specification

Essential Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Relevant experience in building structures (concrete and steelwork)
  • Project delivery experience with Revit Structures
  • Good technical skills in his/her subject area and computer literate on all standard CAD software with knowledge of RC detailing
  • Working knowledge of 3D structural drafting is essential
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD essential, CADS RC is preferable.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office tool suite.
  • Capability to work to deadlines and work independently when required
